On Monday Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Thorbjorn Jagland, President of the Storting (Parliament) of the Kingdom of Norway, who is on an official visit in Ukraine.
The Parties discussed a wide range of issues concerning bilateral relations, especially, their parliamentary aspect.
According to V.Lytvyn, the development of Ukrainian-Norwegian relations is stable, and the political dialogue is active at all the levels. "The relations are stable and predictable, there are no political problems between our countries", - he stated.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed his hopes that the visit of T.Jagland would facilitate transition of the bilateral cooperation onto "a qualitatively new level".
In his turn, the President of the Storting of Norway stated that contacts between both nations have been developing for a long time and reached the times of Kyiv Rus. "We are the members of a single large European family", - stated T.Jagland.
The Parties highly appreciated the level of inter-parliamentary relations and expressed their willingness to give impetus to their development at all the levels.
